ABSTRACT OF CONTENT

The data set records all emigrants to Liberia between 1820 and 1843 who were brought to the colony by the American Colonization Society. Variables include place of origin, place of arrival, status of individual, level of literacy, occupstion, date of death, cause of death and ship which carried the emigrant to Liberia.
